Movie Review: The Batman

The new action-packed “The Batman” movie hit theaters on March 4, 2022 after many delays due to coronavirus. The movie is currently only available in theaters, but will drop on HBO Max on April 19, 2022.

Celebrities like Robert Pattinson as Batman, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle, and Paul Dano as the Riddler are featured. Pattinson takes on the new role of Batman and Bruce Wayne which was most recently played by Ben Affleck. Pattinson adjusted to the role well and makes it seem as if he has always played Batman with being able to multitask the two different characters and their emotions.

Batman and other government officials try to solve the riddles to stop the new villain, “The Riddler,” from killing again. The Riddler kills people to make them “pay” for their corruption.

Suspension builds while watching since the movie is action-packed and the audience never knows what to expect. Whether it was them trying to solve the riddles, stop the killer, or following the characters as they deal with their personal issues you never know what’ll happen next.

It is easy to become anxious waiting for the end, but the well detailed videography makes it easier to stay involved, follow along, and keep viewers on their toes. I would advise using the bathroom before, since leaving during it would mean missing a lot of the small details.

The cinematography was smooth and made all the different sections of the movie blend together. From car chases to big and loud explosions to small animal noises, all of the details make the movie a great experience.

Although the movie is three hours long, the theater experience makes it more entertaining. I would recommend this movie to those who love adventures. Viewers do not need to be a DC fan in order to find it enjoyable, so next time you want to go to the theater, give The Batman a try.
