“People definitely need to be held accountable, but I find that in modern culture, people rush to completely annihilate someone’s career or people like to find that instant gratification in joining a Twitter trend. It really removes the ability for discussion and growth. There are some cancellations that are warranted, but regardless, I personally think that every instance deserves discussion and conversation. That’s the only way to really solve any of these issues. For racism, you’re not going to change the situation by canceling someone for saying something racist, whether that be ten years ago or yesterday. You’re not going to change a racist unless you take the time to. Instead of blocking someone, have a conversation.”
