Mr. Gerald Evans
Serving 6 years in the Army from 1994-1999 was English 9 teacher, Mr. Gerald Evans. Evans found that having the ability to travel to other countries and to experience other cultures is something to cherish forever. “I learned so much from realizing just how different (good and bad) the United States is from other countries,” explains Evans. “ With great privilege comes great responsibility, and I feel more Americans need to travel abroad to be reminded of that responsibility.” One piece of knowledge that Evans shares with his students shows true character from the Army. “You are certainly free to make excuses for your own shortcomings, but people around you do not have to accept your excuses or your shortcomings” shares Evans.
