Many people in my life have told me when I get to high school it will be the fastest four years of my life, so I should make the most of it.

At the time, I didn’t want to believe them, but now I do.
I remember my first day of ninth grade. I came home and told my mom and sister how it wasn’t that good, but they told me it was just my first day and it would get better, and it did. I’ve met so many people, made priceless memories, and grew as a person. Now, I have less than a month left of my high school career and many memories to look back on everything I have done and accomplished.
While touring the high school months prior as an eighth grader I thought, “I’m going to get lost in this place.” Though it did happen quite a few times, I still found my way around. I still get lost, but not like that. Having to find my own path has been a challenge, but with the help of my family, teachers, friends, and peers I’ve been able to guide my way through different situations.
Senior year has taught me so much and has shown me so many new things. I’m going to miss a lot from here. Friday Night Lights, pep rallies, being a part of the tennis team, club activities, laughing with my friends at lunch; the list goes on, but I’m glad I got the experience I did. I’m really lucky to have this experience and I wouldn’t go back and change a thing because later on in my life, I will have fun stories to tell.
The whole experience has felt so surreal. I thought I had so much time left, but it flew by so fast. Before high school, I thought the seniors were so old and grown up, but now that I am one, I realize how young I really am. I have so much to look forward to and do. This is just the first chapter of my life and so far it’s been pretty good.

As May 15 approaches, I’m going to think about the friends I’ve made along the way. The way all of them have been with me and how they have helped me and made me laugh throughout all of the years. My teammates, for having fun with me on and off the court. My teachers, for teaching me almost everything I know and believing in me. My older sisters, for guiding me through all of my years of school, not just high school and for being my role models. And most importantly my parents, they have done so much for me; talking me through things I don’t understand, showing up to events to cheer me on, showing me how important I am, and giving me this life.
After I graduate, I plan to attend Towson University in Baltimore, MD. I plan to major in biology and further my studies in forensic science. Everyone in my life has played an important role and that has led me to this final moment; walking across the stage.
Congratulations class of 2026!
