Olivia Thompson

Class: Art Foundations II with Mrs. McGinnis

In Art Foundations II, Olivia Thompson created this sculpture by making casts of her own hands and mounting them on books. She then painted the hands using various colors to symbolize the skin tones of different races. The hands are reaching towards one another, ultimately to form a heart. The books that are the base for this sculpture represent knowledge, or education, and that these are the foundations of forming unity and love between the races.
