Starbucks released its limited edition fall drink and food menu on August 22, and I had seen many people post on social media raving about the items, so my mom and I went to test the new fall treats.
The closest Starbucks location to me is in Zion’s Crossroads, and it is about a 30-minute drive. We decided to go before school and have a mom and daughter date. As soon as we walked into the store, we were greeted with smiles and the welcoming smell of fall: pumpkin, apple and cinnamon.
For a drink to be a perfect ten out of ten I need to be able to taste every flavor that is supposed to be included and want to order it again. For food, such as pastries and muffins to be a ten out of ten, they should be moist and the flavors should taste fresh.
For a drink, I ordered the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai which consists of chai tea mixed with cinnamon topped with a pumpkin-flavored cold foam. As someone who loves chai, I was hoping this drink would become my new favorite. The chai flavor gets a bit lost in the mix of milk and pumpkin, so I rated the drink a seven out of ten. For food, I ordered the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, and it was delicious. The pumpkin flavor of the muffin as well as the consistency was perfect and the cream cheese was refreshing, making this a ten out of ten.
My mom ordered the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato, which is espresso mixed with apple and cinnamon flavoring as well as oatmilk. The drink smelled and tasted exactly like a caramel apple, but also had the taste of coffee which is why she rated it a ten out of ten. She also ordered the Baked Apple Croissant, which was a small croissant that had an apple filling. She rated this a six out of ten because there was a minimal amount of filling and it and it was lacking on the apple flavoring.
I enjoyed tasting these items and trying something other than my usual order, such as an Iced Vanilla Latte. For someone who loves coffee and fall flavors, I would absolutely recommend trying the Starbucks fall items before they are gone.
