We are all told that our high school years will fly by, and that is definitely true. It is surreal to think that in a few short days, being a student will only be a memory to me. These last couple of events will be the last time I see many of my peers that I have grown up with my whole life.
Looking back on my time as a student, I feel an immense amount of joy and gratitude towards all the memories I’ve made. I have made the best of every moment from school dances and football games to senior events.
As the time to walk across the stage grows near, I am filled with nostalgia and excitement. I can’t wait to start this next chapter, but it’s also bittersweet to see my high school career come to an end. It almost doesn’t feel real that I will never walk through these doors again, sit in class and wait for the bell to ring, or walk through the halls with my friends.
I’m so blessed to have met new people and grown closer to so many friends during my time here at the high school. Having friends who bring out the very best version of myself has made my time as a student better than I ever could have imagined.
I’m grateful for my family for always being a shoulder to lean on and always supporting me no matter what. They are my biggest cheerleaders.
If I could give one piece of advice to those starting their senior year or just entering high school, it would be to stay kind and true to yourself. A little kindness and compassion goes a long way. Be inclusive and welcoming to everyone, because life’s too short to not be kind.
