July 5, 2025, marked the release date of “Fantastic Four: First Steps”. It is Marvel’s latest reboot of the original “Fantastic Four” movie, which came out in July 2005. Movie fans, dressed in the Fantastic Four’s signature blue, flocked to theaters to watch the four superheroes fight to protect the Earth.

“The Fantastic Four are Marvel’s first family,” junior Brody Spangler said. “They were astronauts until they got caught in a cosmic storm, which gave them their powers. After that, they have to fight off this massive, world-destroying villain named Galactus. It was one of the best Marvel movies I’ve seen post the Infinity War and End Game era.”
“Fantastic Four” takes place in a separate universe from the Avengers, another beloved team of superheroes in many of Marvel’s most profitable movies. However, it is possible that both teams will unite in the upcoming movie, “Avengers: Doomsday”.

“It was a standalone movie, but they’ll likely be able to get to the other universes through space travel for ‘Doomsday, ’” senior Ally McGehee said. “In the end credits of Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts’, their spaceship is seen in space coming towards Earth.”
“Fantastic Four: First Steps” is a popular and family-friendly movie. IMDb says it is the first movie in the “Fantastic Four” franchise to become Certified Fresh, by Rotten Tomatoes, standing at a rating of 86% by critics.

“It was a pretty fantastic movie, especially the last fight scene,” said freshman Avery Tolle. “I went to see the movie with my friends, and I would rate it a 10/10.”
As of Aug. 26, 2025, “Fantastic Four: First Steps” has made a total of $491.9 million worldwide, making it popular among Marvel fans around the world.
