On Oct 28, the Altria Theatre hosted a symphony displaying the music from the video game “Stardew Valley.” “Stardew Valley” is a farming simulator that is enjoyed by many throughout the world for its calming atmosphere. The game’s music is considered particularly soothing by some people for the gentle vibe it provides when playing the game.
“The music really helps me study because it’s calming and not rushed or overwhelming like music from some other games can be,” senior Lilith Zaleski said.
The game has also been a significant part in some people’s lives and played a part in influencing them to make significant decisions about the direction of their life.
“I started playing ‘Stardew Valley’ in 2016 when it came out on the nintendo switch and my husband and I sometimes joke that we moved to Virginia because of ‘Stardew Valley’,” French teacher Courtney Hasson said. “We had both grown up in the suburbs and when we moved here and started a new life it kinda felt like a real life ‘Stardew Valley’ to us,”

The music’s soothing vibe and peaceful tone also provided a calming feeling that helped some people to get through difficult periods of their lives when they were not at their best
“It was just a very calm game, and helped me calm down during some very stressful times in my life where I wasn’t very happy,” freshman Dennis “Haven” Catron said. “Being able to listen to the game’s music in my free time helped me get past those hard times so I could get to a better place mentally.”
When faced with the opportunity to attend the symphony, some expressed their excitement to hear the music of the game live instead of hearing it through a digital medium.
“When we heard the concert was coming, my husband and I bought tickets right away,” Hasson said. “We were super impressed that the creator of the game made all of that music by himself on top of the programming of the game so we were super excited for the concert.”

I really liked reading this, and I wish that I was able to go. I heard about one of these a while ago and really wanted to go but sadly didn’t have a chance to. I love the game though, and the romance questline I’m trying to get right now is Harvey’s as I love his character so much and he’s very sweet.
