Spider-Man is back in action with a new trailer that debuted on March 18, 2026. It was the first movie trailer to ever hit one billion views, and the new movie comes to theatres on July 31, 2026.
“‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is already web-slinging its way to history. The Sony Pictures trailer, released on Wednesday morning, has become the biggest trailer of all time with 718.6 million views in 24 hours,” Jordan Moreau of Variety published.
Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon will all return to continue their roles in this Marvel classic as Peter Parker, MJ, and Ned. However, new actors and actresses have been added to the cast, like Sadie Sink and Jon Bernthal, rumoured to play young Jean Grey and The Punisher. Some characters featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe comics will also be featured in the movie, including Scorpion, Hulk, and Tombstone.

“In the trailer, we saw Scorpion and The Punisher, which I think is very cool that they’re keeping it street-level and more comic space,” sophomore Jameson Ryder said. “If I were to see anyone that they haven’t shown, it’d probably be Mr. Negative and his people running the streets.”
Fans have said the movie will probably be sad because of the ending of the previous film. Everyone forgot Peter Parker existed, but there may be hope in which he finds his friends again in this one. As seen in the trailer, Peter does see his friends at a party, but it’s different because they have no clue who he is — no one does. So, fans are hoping to have a reunion in which his old friends remember him.

“I’m pretty excited, but maybe not as excited because all of his friends and his girlfriend forgot him and he’s just like ‘no one remembers me,’ so that’s my general reaction,” Special Education teacher Cary Varner said.
As the excitement for the film builds, fans look back at the past movies. From Tobey Maguire to Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland, Marvel fans constantly debate over who they think was/is the best Spider-Man. Many have said Tom Holland is their favorite, but Tobey Maguire can’t be beaten since he was the original. It all depends on which era people grew up in.
“I think Spider-Man: Homecoming is the best movie from the newer ones, but I did like the Amazing Spider-Man with Andrew Garfield, that was pretty good,” Ryder said. “Tom Holland’s still my favorite one though.”
