One last season, one more fight. As the release of the last season of “Stranger Things” approaches, fans are excited to see what the Duffer brothers have come up with to conclude the show. Will it end in peace, or tragedy?

“I think something bad will happen to Hawkins and they’ll fail,” junior Luis Rodriguez said. “I think a lot of characters will be killed off, but they’ll be successful, but Hawkins will still be destroyed.”

The show was released almost over a decade ago on July 15, 2016. Season five will be released in three parts. Vol. 1 will be released on Nov. 26, 2025, Vol. 2 on Dec. 25, and the finale will follow on Dec. 31, 2025. Within these past years, there have been many mysteries uncovered throughout the years in fictional town, Hawkins, Indiana, from finding out what “The Upside Down” is to figure out who was behind all of this chaos. This season will focus on the group going on one last hunt to take down the main antagonist, Vecna, and return Hawkins back to what it was once before.

“I think it gives time for people to watch it and catch up to it, but I also just wanted to watch it right now because I could watch an entire season within a whole day,” senior Elizabeth Babich said.

A couple of new characters will be introduced this season, such as Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay; Nell Fisher, who is recasted for Holly Wheeler; Jake Connelly as Derek Turnbow; and Alex Breaux as Lieutenant Akers. The entirety of the main cast will return to conclude the season along with a couple of other supporting characters from the previous seasons. Priah Ferguson, Jamie Campbell Bower, Brett Gelman, Cara Buono, and Amybeth McNulty will all return as well, creating excitement between the fans who wish to see their favorite characters return this season. After being asked who his favorite character is, AP government and sociology teacher, Mark Harris, says he is excited to see

Eleven.

“I have no idea what she is going to do this season,” Harris said. “Since it’s inspired by Stephen King, you could see that Eleven could die because in a lot of his novels, the main protagonist dies, but I can’t imagine they would do that.”

Fans have shared how watching the show for the first time has made them feel and also why the ending of it will be bittersweet. There are many who started watching the show when it just started, but some started the show a couple of years ago as it gained more popularity. Many fans are excited to see how the show ends, but are emotional about it ending since it’s been with them for a long time.

“I started watching the very first season when it first came out and watched it with my daughter,” history teacher John Pearson said. “I just like dark shows because they’re mysterious and keep you on the edge of your seat as you try to figure out what’s going to happen and where it’s going.”
