The 2021 Lion’s golf team has a similar look heading into the season, with a couple of new faces. Five players return from last season: seniors Zane Moore, Perry Hopkins, Nate Feagans, Arianna Jackson and junior Evan Straley.

The team is set to make some noise in the talented Jefferson District. The Lions have gained some new talent as well. Freshman Emma Zaleski and junior Lee Sisk are new additions that have shown to be capable of producing in a big way for the team.

“I expect us to win many matches and the region,” Straley said on his expectations for this year’s team.

One major change for the Lions is the opportunity to play at Cutalong, the new local course that is slated to be one of the top golf attractions in the state upon its completion.

“I’m most excited to play at a new coure that is a lot better than the one we used to play at,” Straley said.

The team opens their season March 2 against Charlottesville High School at Meadowcreek Golf Course.
