On Jan. 28, Noah Kahan announced his fourth album titled “The Great Divide.” A couple days following this announcement, Kahan released the album’s first single with the same title. The album is set to release on April 24.

“I was really excited [for the new album],” sophomore Savanna Morgner. “I had been following the secret account that he had on Tiktok that hinted towards it [the album]. I’ve been following it for a while, then when he
finally released the ‘Great Divide,’ I was really excited.”
Upon the announcement of ‘The Great Divide,’ fans were anticipating the announcement of a tour. Kahan officially posted his tour in an Instagram post on Feb. 2 after announcing during a commercial break during the Grammys the day prior.
“If I can get tickets I’m going to go [to his tour],” senior Aubrie Sherry said. “A few years ago, he was at Richmond

right near my sister’s apartment, and I didn’t get to go. So I would really like to go this time.”
In the past Kahan has worked with many artists including Hozier, Post Malone, Gracie Abrams, and Olivia Rodrigo. This year Gigi Perez is going on tour as an opener, who Kahan has worked well with on his previous tours. Rumors of Taylor Swift being a feature on the album have spread, leaving fans with mixed feelings.
“I think that’s great. I don’t know if she can sing sad music well. Her music isn’t really the same vibe,” Sherry said.
Kahan’s music is known for its slightly depressing themes, and with the release of the album’s first single, it gave a sneak peak to what the whole album might feel like.
“I think it [the new album] is gonna be very similar to his old things,” senior Maya Akram said. “When he put out the ‘Great Divide,’ I think it was very similar to all of his old songs. I also went to the concert and heard it already, because he plays unreleased songs, so I had already heard it. It was great! I loved it!”
