Deisy Siegrist is a junior and second year staffer. Her goal is to bring a different perspective, giving unseen topics a voice. Her interests include athletics, spending time with friends and family, and attending church.

The third day in Dominican Republic we traveled to another part of the country on a boat. We had a beautiful sight of the water and beaches of Bavaro.

Enjoying a water park that had just opened, we learned that El Dorado had many pools and jacuzzis.

Getting on the flight from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic to Atlanta, Georgia, we were able to see our pilot who smiled and waved at us.

Every night, the hotel hosted a different show; this night we had a performance by pirates. They performed different dances.

Driving back to our hotel, we passed through the downtown of Punta Cana.

We arrived to a secluded area in the ocean were I was able to swim with a dolphin named Eros in beautiful clear blue water.

I was able to go snorkeling and see different types of fishes and even a boat that was under the water.

At the Sea Aquarium, we were able to go underwater, and we saw all different types of fishes and statues almost 1-2 miles underwater.

Next to the snorkeling area I was kissed by a sea lion.

Arriving to the hotel, we were greeted by entertainers doing circus tricks.

My cousins, siblings, and I were tired, but excited to have arrived in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

My family and I were ready to start our journey. With excitement we prepared to board our flight.

This was the last photo I took in Dominican Republic. I knew I’d miss the heat, but I was glad to go back home.

That evening we went to the hotel restaurant and found my brother’s favorite waiter. My brother looked for Jose everyday.

Touring the city Veron, I saw what locals call a primary school. This is a school were children and adults learn basic reading, writing, and math skills.

My family and I were excited for our next activity. We were getting prepared to have fun.

On February 4th, my birthday, we were traveling to the Sea Aquarium and while doing so I found a birthday twin. As we were together the people around us sang “Happy Birthday.”

While on beach by our hotel, I met parrot named Lexus. Lexus liked to pose, but he did not like to be pet.

Bright and early, my cousin, sister, and I were waiting to board our flight at 6:00 am; we sat and watched a movie.
