Taylor Swift’s new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” comes out on April 19, 2024. This will be Swift’s 11th album.

“I have been a fan since the original 1989 album came out in 2014,” senior Emily Tifft said.

At the 2024 Grammys, Swift got up on stage after receiving a Grammy to thank her fans. As a gift to her fans, Swift announced she had an album she was keeping a secret for two years that she was going to release.

“I’m so excited for this, I have a countdown for the album too,” junior Addison Smith said.

Many fans were not expecting a new album as they were expecting Swift to release her album “Reputation,” as “Taylor’s Version.”

“It came as a complete surprise,” senior Madelyn Wilson said.  “We were all not expecting her to release a whole new album,”

Fans have already started to make predictions on how the songs will sound. One prediction is that the album will be filled with songs that are sad endings to her happy songs.

“I think it’s going to have a lot more of that poetic work like in ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore,’” Tifft said. “I think it is going to be very emotionally engaging.”

This article will be updated after the album has been released.
